1. Virtualization and Private Cloud

Aim is to build a highly secure, automated, agile, cost effective internal IT Infrastructure - leveraging solutions provided by Industry leaders in virtualization. University of Kerala is looking to enhance their IT infrastructure as part of the long pending IT refresh. Since there are so many colleges under each university, university decided to build a private virtualized infrastructure as part of the internal IT Infra and so that they can provide the required services to each colleges. This will help the university to change the way it's been considered, as cost center to a profit center and also will ensure maximum availability of all the applications. The Data Centres (DC) shall provide better operations & management control; minimize overall cost of Data Management, IT Management and Deployment through use of common infrastructure, which broadly includes: Compute Infrastructure and Storage Infrastructure. So a solution to the optimized usage is maximizing the utilization as per the demand. We cannot ensure the application a server is up in full time because a single application is runs in a single server. It the server fails the application fails. The physical servers are pooled as a single unit and create virtual servers as per the demand. Presently Universities and organizations are moving this path to fulfill the requirements and cost optimization.
